SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – The No. 12 Westminster men's lacrosse suffered its first loss of the season by falling 13-11 at No. 20 Dominican (Calif.) on Saturday evening in MCLA action.

Westminster (2-1) got three goals from
Josh Holland and five points – two goals and three assists – by
Thomas Sarjeant. They also got two goals apiece from
Kyle Postler and
Elias Fairman.

After the Griffins took a 2-1 lead midway through the first quarter, Dominican (3-2) scored five of the game's next six goals to lead 6-3 in the second quarter. The Penguins opened the advantage to 8-5 at halftime. Westminster came out following the intermission with goals from
Eric Crosby, Postler and Fairman to level the game at 8-8.

Fairman tied the game at 9-9 to start the fourth quarter before Dominican scored the next four goals to lead 13-9 midway through the fourth. Sarjeant and Holland would strike for the Griffins to close the gap to two, but that would be as close as they got.

Westminster will now travel to San Luis Obispo, Calif. for a game at No. 5 Cal Poly on Monday at 8 p.m. (MT).
