SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's basketball plays host to Montana Western in a Frontier Conference game on Saturday as they begin a stretch of three-straight home games. This week's only game for the two teams will begin earlier than normal with a 4 p.m. (MT) tipoff.

Griffin Fast Break: Westminster begins the stretch of three-straight at home with a 10-12 overall record and they are currently eighth in the Frontier Conference with a 3-6 mark in league games. They are one-game behind a group of four teams that are tied for the fourth position in the conference with a 4-5 record. The Griffins have won three-straight home games and are 7-4 at home this season.

Offense Notebook: The Griffins enter play this week scoring 72.86 points per game which ranks sixth in the Frontier Conference. They are shooting 43.6 percent from the field and 23rd in the NAIA by making 70.7 percent at the foul line. The team makes 7.64 threes per outing – 28th in the NAIA – and they rank 28th in the country by shooting 36.3 percent from beyond the arc. The Griffins distribute 14.14 assists per game – 39th in the NAIA – with a 1.05 assist-to-turnover ratio to place 24th nationally.

Defense Notebook: Westminster is giving up 70.50 points per game on the season to rank 41st in the country and they hold the opposition to 45.1 percent shooting. They have held 12 opponents under 70 points, including six in conference play. Griffin opponents shoot 34.7 percent from beyond the arc and Westminster grabs 34.64 rebounds per game. They are forcing 15.86 turnovers per outing and generate 8.41 steals per game to rank 31st in the country.

Leaders: Quincy Bair leads three Griffins that average in double figures at 13.50 points per game.
Jordan Pryor averages 12.46 points per game and had made a team-high 52 threes.
Kenny Woodard adds 11.55 points per game while shooting 88.2 percent at the foul line.
Colton Moon has a team-leading 52 assists and 48 stelas while Bair and
Casey Evans lead the way with 12 blocked shots.

Looking Back: Westminster dropped a pair of road games last week, falling 71-60 at Rocky Mountain (Mont.) on Feb. 5, and then at Carroll (Mont.), 57-55, on Feb. 7. Woodard scored a team-high 16 points at Rocky Mountain and Bair went for 19 at Carroll.

Frontier Conference Race: With three weeks left in the regular season, no team in the Frontier Conference has secured a spot in the six-team conference tournament. And while the Griffins are currently in the No. 8 spot, they are just one-game out of hosting a quarterfinal game on March 4. Great Falls (Mont.) and Montana Western are currently tied for the top spot at 6-3 with Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) one-game behind at 5-4.

Home Dominance: Westminster has been tough to beat in the Behnken Field House since it opened in 2006. While the Griffins have always been good at home, going 171-34 (.834) since the program was reinstated in 1999, they have compiled a 106-19 (.848) mark in their current home. The Griffins are 7-4 in the Behnken Field House this season and have won three straight at home.

Bombs Away: The Griffins have been taking advantage of the 3-point line this season, ranking 28th in the NAIA by making 7.64 triples per game. They shoot 36.3 percent from beyond the arc to rank 28th in the nation. The team scores 31.4 percent of their total points from deep while making at least seven treys in a game 14 times. Pryor leads the team by making 2.36 threes per game – 35th in the nation – and he is shooting 38.5 percent from three.

Extra Possessions: Westminster has done a good job of creating extra possessions this season by forcing the opposition into 15.86 turnovers per game. They rank 31st in the country by getting 8.41 steals per game and their 2.54 turnover margin is 19th nationally. The Griffins are scoring 18.5 points per game from turnovers which accounts for 25.4 percent of their total scoring average.

Balance from Bair: Quincy Bair has been the most all-around player for the Griffins this season and he currently scores a team-best 13.50 points per game. The junior is shooting 48.5 percent from the field and he has scored in double figures 16 times, including a career-high 32 at Montana State-Northern on Jan. 24. He has 27 threes and shoots 48.6 percent from beyond the arc while also grabbing 3.1 rebounds per contest. Bair has added 43 assists, 23 steals and 12 blocked shots to his stat line.

Performance from Pryor: Jordan Pryor was named preseason all-conference after being selected as the Frontier Sixth-Man of the Year last season. Pryor is currently scoring 12.46 points per game and making 2.36 threes per outing to rank 35th in the NAIA. He has scored in double figures 13 times on the year made at least three treys in a game nine times. Pryor has scored 274 points this season and now ranks 22nd in team history with 702 career points.

Spark off the Bench: Kenny Woodard has given the team a scoring spark off the bench this season. He is currently third on the team in scoring at 11.55 points per night and he is shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc. Woodard has scored in double figures 14 times on the year and he has also recorded 49 assists. He shoots 88.2 percent at the foul line to rank sixth in the NAIA.

Stealing the Record: Colton Moon enters the week second in school history with 155 career steals. He is 10 thefts away from becoming the school's all-time leader in the category and he would need to average 2.0 steals per game over the final five regular season games to set the record. This season, Moon is 13th in the NAIA with 48 steals and he also ranks 14th with an average of 2.18 steals per game. He has recorded at least one steal in all but two games this season and has multiple steals in a game 14 times during the year.

Crashing the Boards: Nick Jenson leads the team this season with 148 rebounds and he sits sixth in the Frontier by grabbing 6.73 rebounds per game. The senior has four games with at least 10 rebounds and he has led the team in rebounding during 15 games this season. Jenson 2.32 offensive rebounds per game on the year and he ranks first in school history by grabbing 2.30 offensive rebounds per game in his career. He currently ranks ninth in school history with 124 offensive rebounds and 10th with 333 total rebounds.
