ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Westminster women's volleyball team finished the 2015 season with a 3-0 loss at Dixie State on Wednesday night at the Student Activities Center.
Westminster ends its season at 7-20 after suffering the 25-16, 25-23, 25-19 loss. Dixie State improves to 19-9 with the victory.
Griffin seniors
Alyse Horton and
Jessica Chellsen each recorded double figures in kills in their final collegiate matches. Horton led the team with 11 kills and she hit .333 while Chellsen hit .400 with 10 kills. Horton also tallied 14 digs for her 11th career double-double.
Dixie State had a 45-39 edge in kills during the match and the home side hit .303 as a team. The Griffins got 16 kills and hit .325 in the second set, but totaled only 23 kills in the other two frames while Dixie had 28 in the two along with 17 in the second.
Taylor Gustafson led Westminster with 30 assists and
Megan Gallegos added 13 digs.
Dixie got a match high 16 kills from Taylor Duryea with Delayne Daniel adding 13.
