LOGAN, Utah – The Westminster women's basketball was defeated by Utah State, 74-67, in an exhibition game for the Griffins on Monday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.
 
Westminster got 18 points and four assists from 
Denise Gonzalez in the loss. 
Natalie Parsons added 16 points.
 
The Griffins finished the game shooting 48 percent from the field and made six threes. They scored 28 points in the paint and grabbed 32 rebounds. Utah State (1-1) forced the Griffins into 20 turnovers that they turned into 23 points.
 
Funda Nakkasoglu led the Aggies with 24 points after going 12 of 14 at the foul line. USU made 19 of 23 (82.6 percent) as a team at the stripe.
 
Westminster is now off until November 24 when they travel to St. George, Utah, for a game at Dixie State.
