COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Westminster women's soccer team couldn't take advantage of a 15-11 shot advantage and dropped a 3-0 decision at UC Colorado Springs on Sunday afternoon at Mountain Lion Stadium.
Westminster (6-5-1, 3-4-1 RMAC) put five of their chances on goal with all of them being saved by the UCCS (8-3-2, 5-2-2) keeper. The home side took the lead in the 35th minute when Michaela Mansfield struck for her fifth goal of the season.
The Mountain Lions would add a second goal in the 55th minute when Bailee Jameson scored. They added the third goal in the 80th minute from Dana Shellhorn.
Rylei North led the Griffins with five shots and
Heidi Lorschider got three shots and had a team-best two on frame.
Breanna Empey suffered the loss in goal and made three saves.
Westminster will spend next week on the road with the first of two games coming at MSU Denver on Friday at 7 p.m.
