SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's basketball team is back in the Behnken Field House this week to conclude the first half of the Frontier Conference season. Westminster welcomes Montana Tech to town on Thursday and then they play host to Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) on Saturday. Both games will begin at 7:30 p.m. MT.

Griffin Fast Break: Westminster begins play this week at 8-10 overall this season and they currently sit in eighth-place in the Frontier Conference at 1-4. They have dropped three straight games – all on the road – after winning six of seven before that. The Griffins are 7-1 on the year when scoring at least 70 points in a game and also 7-1 when leading with five minutes to play.

Offense Notebook: The Griffins enter play this week scoring 75.11 points per game which ranks sixth in the Frontier Conference. They are 48th nationally by shooting 44.7 percent from the field and 37th by making 69.5 percent at the foul line. The team makes 7.83 threes per outing – 25th in the NAIA – and they rank 22nd in the country by shooting 37.2 percent from beyond the arc. The Griffins place 30th in the country at 15 assists per game while their 1.09 assist-to-turnover ratio is 19th in the NAIA.

Defense Notebook: Westminster is giving up 72.06 points per game on the season and they hold the opposition to 45.6 percent shooting. They have held nine opponents under 70 points, including three in conference play. Griffin opponents shoot 35.2 percent from beyond the arc and Westminster grabs 35.06 rebounds per game. They are forcing 16.33 turnovers per outing and generate 8.67 steals per game to rank 26th in the country.

Leaders: Three Griffins are currently averaging double figures on the year with
Quincy Bair leading the way at 12.72 per night.
Jordan Pryor scores 12.5 points per night and is shooting 42 percent from three.
Kenny Woodard adds 12 points per night and has a team-best 45 assists.
Nick Jenson leads the team with 126 rebounds with
Colton Moon leading with 38 assists.

Looking Back: Westminster dropped two games on the road over the weekend, falling at then-No. 19 Great Falls (Mont.), 67-53, on Friday and then 68-63 at Montana State-Northern on Saturday. Woodard scored a team-high 19 points at Great Falls before Bair had a career-best 32 points at MSU-Northern.

Home Dominance: Westminster has been tough to beat in the Behnken Field House since it opened in 2006. While the Griffins have always been good at home, going 169-34 (.833) since the program was reinstated in 1999, they have compiled a 104-19 (.846) mark in their current home. The Griffins are 5-4 in the Behnken Field House this season.

Bombs Away: The Griffins have been taking advantage of the 3-point line this season, ranking 22nd in the NAIA by making 7.83 triples per game. They shoot 37.2 percent from beyond the arc to rank 22nd in the nation. The team scores 31.3 percent of their total points from deep while making at least seven treys in a game 12 times. Pryor leads the team by making 2.61 threes per game – 26th in the nation – and he is 41st nationally by shooting 42 percent from three.

Extra Possessions: Westminster has done a good job of creating extra possessions this season by forcing the opposition into 16.33 turnovers per game. They rank 26th in the country by getting 8.67 steals per game and their 2.72 turnover margin is 21st nationally. The Griffins are scoring 20 points per game from turnovers which accounts for 26.6 percent of their total scoring average.

Inside the Metrics: Westminster is averaging 75.11 points per game on the season and they are scoring 104.3 points per 100 possessions on the year. The team is currently averaging nearly 72 possessions per game. On the defensive end, the Griffins are allowing the opposition to score 100.3 points per 100 possessions.

Performance from Pryor: Jordan Pryor was named preseason all-conference after being selected as the Frontier Sixth-Man of the Year last season. Pryor is currently scoring 12.5 points per game and making 2.61 threes per outing to rank 26th in the NAIA. He has scored in double figures 11 times on the year made at least nine threes in a game nine times this season. Pryor has scored 225 points this season and now ranks 22nd in team history with 653 career points.

Spark off the Bench: Kenny Woodard has given the team a scoring spark off the bench this season. He is currently third on the team in scoring at 12 points per night and he is shooting 31.3 percent from beyond the arc. Woodard has scored in double figures 12 times on the year and he also leads the team with 45 assists. He shoots 86.7 percent at the foul line to rank eighth in the NAIA.

Balance from Bair: Quincy Bair has been the most all-around player for the Griffins this season and he currently scores a team-best 12.72 points per game. The junior is shooting 48.7 percent from the field and he has scored in double figures 12 times, including a career-high 32 at Montana State-Northern on Jan. 24. He has 20 threes and shoots 48.8 percent from beyond the arc while also grabbing 3.1 rebounds per contest. Bair has added 36 assists, 21 steals and six blocked shots to his stat line.

Crashing Jenson: Nick Jenson is averaging 7.9 points per game this season and he leads all Griffins with 126 rebounds. His 7.0 rebounds per game is third in the Frontier Conference and he is 50th in the nation by pulling 4.78 defensive boards per game. Jenson is shooting 53.3 percent from the floor on the year and has recorded two double-doubles. He ranks 10th in school history with 113 offensive rebounds and is currently 12th all-time with 311 total rebounds.

Shoot the Moon: Colton Moon plays his senior season among the top 10 in school history in six statistical categories. He currently sits fifth in school history in made threes (134) and attempted threes (347). Moon ranks sixth all-time with 214 assists and his 145 career steals rank fourth in school history. This season, Moon is 19th in the country with 38 steals and 18th by averaging 2.11 steals per game. He is on pace to become the school's all-time steals leader before the end of the regular season.

Eyes on Evans: Casey Evans has transitioned into the starting lineup this season and is currently averaging 9.4 points per game. The sophomore shoots 52.2 percent from the field and he has made 10 threes while shooting 40 percent from deep. He has scored in double figures 10 times while grabbing 4.4 rebounds per night. Evans leads the team with 11 blocked shots and he has 27 assists and 24 steals. He scored a career-high 20 points with seven rebounds against Rocky Mountain on Jan. 10.
