BUTTE, Mont. – The Westminster women's volleyball team opened the Big Sky Challenge with a loss to No. 2 Concordia (Calif.) on Friday morning at Sampson Court.

Concordia (10-0) remained perfect on the season with the 25-11, 25-15, 25-17 win. The loss drops Westminster to 4-6 on the year.

Westminster totaled 23 kills in the match while hitting .052 in the three sets. They picked up two service aces and three blocks. Concordia finished with 45 kills and hitting .378 and four aces.

Alexis Aalona led the Griffins with seven kills and she hit .111.
Desiree Wickwar and
Alyse Horton added four kills apiece. Wickwar hit .400 in the match and Horton notched nine digs.

The Griffins will return to the court later on Friday with a match against Dickinson State (N.D.). That match will begin at approximately 3 p.m. MT from Sampson Court.
