SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's volleyball team lost at home for the first time this season with a four set loss to Great Falls (Mont.) in Frontier Conference action on Saturday afternoon at the Behnken Field House.
With the 20-25, 25-15, 18-25, 21-25 loss, Westminster falls to 8-10 overall this season and 2-3 in the Frontier Conference. Great Falls improves to 11-8 and 3-3 with the win.
The Griffins didn't have an answer for the offense of the visiting Argonauts as UGF posted 59 kills in the match while holding the Griffins to just 42. Westminster hit .130 in the match and used 77 ids and 9.5 blocks to limit the visitors to only .173 hitting.
Alexis Aalona led Westminster with 12 kills and she added 16 digs for her second-straight double-double and sixth of the season.
Amara Culpepper added nine kills and
Desiree Wickwar had eight kills.
Megan Gallegos notched 25 digs and
Taylor Gustafson posted 37 assists.
Madison Wilhelm led UGF with 18 kills and hitting .271 while Gabby Bienkowski added 17 kills. Jacey Habets had 29 digs.
Westminster will now head to the road for two matches with the first coming at Lewis-Clark State on Thursday at 8 p.m. MT at the Lewiston Activity Center.
