Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – The 19th-ranked Westminster College men's basketball team advanced to the Frontier Conference Tournament title game with a 90-84 win over Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) on Friday night in the Behnken Field House. The second-seeded Griffins will play for the title for the first time since winning the tournament in 2010.
Westminster (19-11) was able to overcome 17 turnovers by shooting 52.4 percent from the field and scoring 44 points in the paint. They had five players scored in double figures with 
Tallon Robertson and 
Nick Jenson each recording a double-double.
Things were going the Griffins way midway through the first half after a 14-0 run built their lead to 33-20 with 6:29 remaining in the first half. 
Blake Skidmore scored eight points during the run, including a pair of threes. Not wanting to see the season end so early, Lewis-Clark State (22-10) closed the half on a 20-7 run with eight points by Brady Bagby and seven from Jacob Champoux to send the game into intermission tied at 40-40.
It was the visiting Warriors that took control midway into the second half. During a nearly six-minute span they outscored the Griffins 21-5 to reach its largest lead of the game at 69-58. LC State shot 8-of-9 from the floor with three triples while forcing Westminster into five turnovers during the run.
Westminster committed its 17th turnover of the night with 10:11 on the second-half clock, but then didn't have another for the rest of the game. That allowed them to put a 13-3 run on the board to get within one with 6:24 remaining. The Griffins would retake the lead on a Skidmore jumper from an inbound play with 3:21 on the clock. 
Quincy Bair hit a baseline jumper with just over a minute remaining to make it 86-82. He would then get a dunk from a baseball pass by Moon to break the press and seal the victory.
Skidmore finished the game with 28 points to lead all scorers. He was 10-of-20 from the floor with four treys. Bair added a career-high 20 points on a 6-of-7 shooting performance. He also grabbed seven rebounds – five offensive – with two assists, one block and one steal.
Robertson had 13 points and 10 rebounds for his eighth double-double of the year while 
Nick Jenson went for 10 points and a career-best 15 rebounds. That is the most rebounds by a Griffin this season and ranks tied for third in school history. 
Jordan Pryor finished with 12 points and two assists.
The Griffins finished with a 42-32 edge on the boards and they finished they held a 21-9 advantage in second-chance points thanks to 16 offensive rebounds. Westminster also scored 21 points from the 12 LC State turnovers.
Bagby would lead five Warriors in double figures with 20 points behind a perfect 8-of-8 at the foul line. Champoux added 17 and E.J. Farris posted 15 points and four threes. LC State scored 26 points from the 17 Westminster turnovers.
The Frontier championship will be played on Monday in Billings, Mont. after top-seeded Rocky Mountain (Mont.) defeated No. 6-seed Great Falls (Mont.) on Friday night. Westminster was winless in two tries against Rocky Mountain this season. The action will tip at 7 p.m. MST from the Fortin Center on the Rocky Mountain campus.
