Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – On a night the three-ball wasn't falling, the Westminster College men's basketball team came up with two late to escape with a 58-54 win over Great Falls (Mont.) in a key Frontier Conference game in the Behnken Field House.

Westminster (16-10, 9-4 Frontier) was just 2-of-13 from beyond the arc in the game and both came in the final three minutes of the contest. Trailing 52-49, Blake Skidmore dribbled around a screen and pulled up for a game-tying three with 2:52 on the clock. It was his only make from beyond the arc on six attempts.

Just over a minute later with the Griffins trailing 54-43, Colton Moon took a pass from Adam Egan and nailed a three from two feet beyond the arc to give Westminster the lead on the six lead change of the game. Moon would then draw a charge on the defensive end to help seal the victory.

While those big shots were crucial to the Griffins third straight win, it was the defensive effort on the Frontier's leading scorer that kept them in a position. Led by sophomore Quincy Bair, Westminster held Marcel Towns of Great Falls (16-10, 7-6) to just two points and 0-of-4 shooting. Towns entered the game averaging 21.8 points per game and he had been in double figures in every game entering the night.

The Griffins shot 51.1 percent from the floor in the game and finished with a 36-10 advantage in points in the paint. They racked up 14 assists and only nine turnovers. Great Falls finished the game at 37 percent shooting going 10-of-23 (43.5%) from beyond the arc. Westminster forced 17 UGF turnovers which they turned into 16 points.

Bair also had a solid night on the offensive end where he matched his career high with 14 points. He would make six of his nine shots and grab three rebounds and two steals. Tallon Robertson also scored 14 points while grabbing 11 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the year. He was also dish out five assists.

Westminster would only get seven points off the bench, but they were important ones from Egan who also had a career-best seven assists and zero turnovers. Skidmore would finish with 11 points and Nick Jenson chipped in nine.

TJ Harris would lead the Argos with 18 points and seven assists. Shawn Williams and Naren Maynard added 13 and nine points respectively off the bench.

The Griffins will play at home for the final time of the regular season on Saturday when they welcome No. 20 Montana State-Northern to the Behnken Field House for Senior Night. Westminster is currently in third place in the Frontier standings and trail MSU-Northern by one game heading into the 7:30 p.m. MST tip. The Griffin seniors will be honored in a ceremony prior to warm-ups.
