Griffins Set Scoring Record in 124-70 Win

SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's basketball team returned to action for the first time in over two weeks as they cruised to a 124-70 victory over Concordia University College of Alberta on Friday night in the Behnken Field House.
 
Westminster (4-6) raced out to a 19-2 lead and they never trailed as they scored a school-record 124 points in the win. They also set the school mark with 49 made field goals with the 54-point margin of victory ranking as the third-largest win in team history.
 
The Griffins finished the game shooting a season-high 54.7 percent from the floor and they made 10-of-25 from beyond the arc. They took care of the basketball and notched 26 assists and only six turnovers. Westminster had a 68-38 advantage in the paint and they scored 40 points from 23 Concordia turnovers while only giving up one points on their turnovers.
 
Seven Griffins scored in double figures with Jordan Pryor leading the way with a career-high 27. The junior made his first six threes and finished the game 6-of-7 from deep. William Walker posted a career-high 19 points and added 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the year. Nick Jenson also had a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
 
Concordia had three players score in double figures with Ryan Coleman leading the team with 12 points. Artez Scharer added 10 points and six assists as the team totaled 19 assists and 25 field goals.
 
These same two teams will play against on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. MT in the Behnken Field House.
