SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster men's basketball team finished off back-to-back wins over Concordia University College of Alberta with a 110-65 win on Saturday evening in the Behnken Field House.

Westminster (5-6) has now won three straight and four of their past six outings. After setting the school record for points in a game with 124 on Friday, they went for the second-highest total on Saturday and this is the first time in school history the team has reach 100 points in consecutive outings.

Leading 16-14 at the 15:06 mark of the first half, the Griffins mounted a 20-4 run in the next 4:34 of action to push the advantage to 18. They shot 8-of-9 during the spurt and forced the visitors into four turnovers. That run carried them into a 61-34 lead at halftime as Westminster finished the half shooting 66.7 percent from the floor.

The Griffins would put the game away midway through the second half by scoring 29 straight points over a span of 6:32 on the clock. They made 12 of their 15 shots, including both threes, during the burst while holding Concordia to 0-of-6 with seven turnovers.

Eight Griffins scored in double figures in the victory with
William Walker scoring 19 for the second straight night to lead the team. He also pulled in a game-high 11 rebounds for his third double-double of the year and second in as many nights.
Nick Jenson scored a career-high 17 points with eight rebounds.
Quincy Bair added 15 and
Jordan Pryor finished with 14. They each recorded five assists.

Westminster got 51 points from the bench with
Trevor Bamgartner getting a career-best 12 and
Isaiah Tademy and
Kenny Woodard adding 10 apiece.

The Griffins finished the game shooting a season-best 58/7 percent from the floor as they scored 72 points in the paint. After scoring 18 fast break points on Friday, Westminster had 25 points in transition tonight while also scored 35 points from 26 Concordia turnovers.

Ryan Coleman led the Thunder with a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan McLaren added 13 points and Rob Haack had 12.

Westminster will now take some time off for the holiday before traveling to Santa Barbara, Calif. for a pair of games at the Tom Byron Classic on Dec. 29-30. The first of those games in a 2 p.m. MT meeting with Victoria (Canada) on the 29th.
