HELENA, Mont. – The Westminster women's soccer team snapped a two-game losing skid with a 1-0 overtime victory at Carroll (Mont.) on Sunday afternoon at Nelson Stadium.
 
Westminster improves to 11-3-2 overall this season with the important Frontier Conference win. The Griffins are now 2-2 in conference play. Carroll drops to 11-2-3 overall and 2-1-1 in the conference with the loss.
 
Neither team found a goal during the 90 minutes of regulation despite both taking eight shots. The Griffins were found the winner less than three minutes into the first 10-minute extra period when Heidi Lorschider found a loose ball in the box and tapped in home before the Carroll keeper could gain possession. The goal is the second of the season for Lorschider and her first game-winner.
 
Westminster finished the game with nine total shots and they put eight of them on goal. Lorschider along with Rylei North and Jennifer Beaudoin all took two shots in the game.
 
Abi Yanke recorded her 11th win and eighth shutout of the year in goal as she made four saves.
 
The same two teams will meet again on Oct. 26 when Carroll make the trip to Salt Lake City for a noon MT appearance at Dumke Field.
