Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster College women's soccer team returned home and snapped a two-game losing skid with a 4-0 win over College of Idaho on Friday evening at Dumke Field.

It took a little time for Westminster (4-5) to break through and end its long scoring drought. They would see the stretch end at 213 minutes when Tiana Cerciello would score her first career goal in the 27th minute. Abigail Black chased a ball down on the end line where she flicked it over her head and into the penalty area where Cerciello headed it home for the 1-0 lead.

Brianna Wilson would notch her first goal of the season in the 38th minute. Jessica Harris played a ball into the box where Wilson collected and took the shot that gave the Griffins the 2-0 lead that they held into halftime.

In the 57th minute it was Nicole Carter that put her name of the score sheet. Carter would gather the rebound of a shot from Madison Roemer and blast a shot into the goal for her second goal of the season. She would then play a ball into the penalty area in the 60th minute that Lexi Tucker finished for the 4-0 lead and her third score of the year.

Westminster attempted 13 shots on the evening and managed seven of them on goal. They limited College of Idaho (2-4) to only one shot in the whole game while also taking seven corner kicks.

Abi Yanke made her second straight start and earned her first career shutout.

Westminster will return to Dumke Field on Sunday when they face Great Falls (Mont.). The game is the Frontier Conference opener for each team and will begin at 3 p.m.
