Women Host Carroll in Monday’s Championship Game

SALT LAKE CITY – The fifth-ranked Westminster College women's basketball team will play host to No. 24 Carroll (Mont.) in the championship game of the Frontier Conference Tournament on Monday night. The game will tipoff at 7 p.m. in the Behnken Field House on the Westminster College campus.

Westminster is the tournament's No. 1 seed and they made the title game with a 64-39 win over Montana Western on Friday night in the semi-finals. The Griffins are 26-3 overall this season and they have won 18 of their last 19 games played.

Carroll comes into the championship as the tournament's No. 2 seed and coming off a 73-52 win over Montana State-Northern in the semi-finals. The Saints are 20-8 on the season and they are the only conference team to defeat the Griffins this season.

Carroll holds the lead in the all-time series with the Griffins at 18-16. Westminster won this year's game in Salt Lake City, 67-36, on Jan. 19. Carroll claimed a 52-43 win in Helena, Mont. on Feb. 21. The Griffins have won the last three meetings in the Behnken Field House with the last loss coming in the semi-finals of the 2010 conference tournament.

Monday's game will be shown live on Griffins TV and in Utah on Comcast 6 with Mike Lageschulte (play-by-play) and Lance Barton (analyst) on the call.
