Box Score HAVRE, Mont. – The third-ranked Westminster College women's basketball team defeated Montana State-Northern, 70-53, on Saturday night to clinch a fifth consecutive Frontier Conference title.
Westminster is now 24-2 overall this season and winners of 16 straight games. They move to 13-0 in Frontier Conference play and lock up the regular season crown with two games remaining. The Griffins will be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament and play all of their game at home, starting with a semi-final contest on March 1.
The Griffins put four players in double figures on Saturday and shot 42.4 percent from the floor. They were efficient from beyond the arc by shooting a season-high 61.5 percent, the second-best performance in school history. The nation's fifth-best free throw shooting team made all 12 of their attempts on Saturday.
Allie Eastman led the Griffins with 18 points in the game. It was the second-best scoring night of the season for the senior as she shot 7-of-12 from the floor while making four of her five attempts from beyond the arc.
Nicole Yazzie finished with 12 points and five assists.

Westminster held MSU-Northern (15-11, 7-7) to 38.3 percent shooting and forced them into 10 turnovers. Northern made just two of their 10 shots from three. The Griffins scored 24 points in the paint and finished with 13 assists and only five turnovers.
Jordan Brurrsema led the Sky Lights in scoring with 16 points. Kylee Denham added 11 points and six rebounds.
Westminster will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Helena, Mont. for a game against Carroll (Mont.). The game will air live in HD on the Altitude Sports Network with a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
