The Griffins would lead by as many as 11 in the first half, but allowed a 6-0 run to end the half by SUU to take a 28-24 lead into the intermission.  SUU took the lead behind a 9-0 run early in the second half and then took the lead for good with 9:13 to play.

Westminster would tie the score at 55-55 with 2:54 remaining as Nicole Yazzie made a three and then Shelby Ellsworth connected on a jumper.  Four straight points from Kimmie Hawkins would push the SUU advantage back to four with 1:42 to play.  Allie Eastman made two free throws with 45 second left to get the Griffins back within two.

Still trailing by two in the final seconds, Westminster recorded a steal by Eastman that led to Amy Krommenhoek getting fouled with four seconds remaining.  The freshman missed the first attempt and was forced to miss the second on purpose.  After not getting the rebound, Westminster fouled and watched Hawkins miss both of her attempts.  Jenteal Jackson grabbed the rebound but came up short on a long range shot at the buzzer.
