GREAT FALLS, Mont. – The Westminster women's volleyball team moved one-game above .500 with a 3-0 sweep at Great Falls on Thursday night. The Griffins (7-6, 3-2 Frontier) won for the third consecutive match and also picked up a third straight three-set sweep. This is also the first road win of the season for the Griffins.
Westminster won the match by scores of 25-19, 25-21, 25-16.
The Griffins hit .277 as a team against Great Falls (5-11, 2-2) and committed just 11 hitting errors in the match. They were tough at the serving line as well, posting eight service aces. Defensively they racked up 44 digs and eight blocks while holding the Argos to .045 hitting. UGF hit -.048 and -.028 in sets one and three respectively.
Clotile Harris led the Westminster offense with 16 kills and a .414 hitting efficiency. This was the fifth consecutive match that Harris has posted a double-digit kill total. Harris also added two service aces and three blocks. Four other Griffins recorded at least four kills with
Ericka Evans posting five. Evans also matched
Kyndall Kordakis for a team-high 10 digs.
Emily Atkinson had 24 assists and nine digs.
Tosha Nunes led UGF with nine kills. The Argos piled up 46 digs in the match with Sabrina Blajos collecting 11 of those. Jessica Muzzall added six kills.
Westminster will complete the road trip on Saturday when they face Montana State-Northern in Havre, Montana.
