This Week
The Westminster men's basketball team welcomes defending NAIA national champion Rocky Mountain College to the Behnken Field House for a semi-final game of the Frontier Conference Tournament. Westminster and Rocky will faceoff on Friday, March 5 at 7 p.m. with a trip to the conference title game on the line.
Westminster enters the game at 24-5 overall and winners of 11 straight games. The Griffins are ranked No. 4 in the final NAIA coaches' top 25 poll that was released on March 2.
Westminster advanced to the semi-finals with a 78-55 win over Great Falls in the opening round last Tuesday.
Ben Walker led the Griffins with 25 points and seven rebounds in that game.
Weston Anderson added 13 points and
Tanner Gregory chipped in 12 points off the bench.
Rocky made the semi-finals with a 65-64 home win against fifth-seeded Carroll College. The fourth-seeded Battlin' Bears led by 10 at halftime of that game only to survive on a missed buzzer-beater.
Walker's 25 points match the 25 scored by Andy Garland of Carroll for the most by an individual during the opening round.
Blair Prowse leads the tournament with four steals. As a team, Westminster is leading the tournament with 21 assists.
Against Rocky Mountain
Westminster went 2-0 against Rocky during the regular season. The Griffins won 59-51 in the game in Salt Lake City on January 23 and followed that with a 60-48 win in Billings on February 18. Westminster has now won four straight against Rocky, including a 71-53 decision in last season's Frontier Conference championship game.

Around the Tournament
In the other semi-final game on Saturday, No. 3 seed Montana State-Northern plays at No. 2 seed Montana Western in Dillon, Montana. That game will begin at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to face to winner of the Westminster-Rocky game for the championship. The championship game will be played at the home of the highest remaining seed on Monday, March 8 at 7 p.m.
