Box Score HAVRE, Montana – The Westminster women's basketball team got a bucket from
Keshia Catten with two seconds remaining to give the Griffins a 59-57 win over Montana State-Northern on Saturday night in Frontier Conference action.
No. 14 Westminster (19-5, 8-1) trailed 57-54 with less than 30 seconds remaining in the game.
Allie Eastman made a three to tie the game, and then Catten came up with a steal and basket to give the Griffins the victory.
The Griffins shot just 39.6% from the field and trailed by as many as seven in the first half. They scored the net for 42.1% from beyond the arc and grabbed 11 offensive rebounds. They held Northern to 38% shooting and just 3-of-11 from 3-point range. Northern committed 13 turnovers which turned into 10 Westminster points.
Catten led Westminster with 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting. She went 3-of-4 from beyond the arc and added four rebounds and four assists. Eastman added 14 points and seven rebounds while
Nicole Yazzie went for 13 points and three assists.
McKenzie Jessop collected a team-best eight rebounds.
Westminster returns to action on Thursday, February 11 when they return to the Behnken Field House to host Montana Western at 5:30 p.m.
