The Westminster men's basketball plays at home for the final time of the 2010 regular season when they host Lewis-Clark State on Saturday, February 27 in the Behnken Field House. Westminster will be looking for a 10th consecutive victory overall trying to match a school record with 13 conference wins in one season.
Prior to the game, Westminster will recognize its four seniors.
Weston Anderson,
Jeramie Hopson,
Conner Nielsen, and
Blair Prowse will all take to the Behnken Field House for the final time in the regular season. As a bonus, anyone that arrives before halftime of the women's game that night will receive FREE admission.
The Griffins jumped to a season-best No. 4 ranking in the NAIA coaches' poll that was released on Monday. Westminster is 22-5 overall and has won 10 of the last 20 games they have played. They clinched a third consecutive Frontier Conference championship with two road wins last weekend and will be the No. 1 seed in next week's Frontier Conference Tournament.
Westminster is third nationally allowing just 60.7 points per game and holds the opposition to just 39.8% shooting from the field. The Griffins sit atop the Frontier in steals at 7.9 per contest and are second n the conference by holding opponents to just 31.1% shooting from beyond the arc. On the offensive end, Westminster shoots 49.3% from the field which is the eighth-best percentage in the nation. The Griffins average 70.7 points per game and are 17th nationally in assists at 15.6 per night. The Griffins have assisted on 61.2% of 686 total field goals this season.
Prowse enters the final game averaging a team-best 15.3 points and shooting 38.2% from beyond the arc. His 76 makes from deep is the second most in a season in school history, trailing the 102 made by
Jordan Jacobs in the 2006-07 season.
Ben Walker is second on the team at 14.2 points per game. He is third nationally in field goal percentage at 65.8% and leads the team by collecting 5.8 rebounds. His 38 blocked shots this season make him the single season and career leader in that category at Westminster. Anderson adds 12.7 points and a team leading 3.7 assist per game. His 209 career assists are the fourth most in school history.

Frontier Conference Tournament Update
Westminster has earned the No. 1 seed for the Frontier Conference Tournament, meaning they will play all of its games in the Behnken Field House. Their title defense will begin on Tuesday, March 2 against Great Falls. The game is tentatively scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff but could be moved to 8 p.m. depending on the outcome of Saturday's women's game.
