Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – The Westminster men's basketball team lowered its magic number to clinching a second consecutive outright Frontier Conference championship to one after a 60-48 win over Rocky Mountain College on Thursday night. No. 7 Westminster is now 21-5 on the season and 11-1 in the conference.
The Griffins used a 15-0 run midway through the first half to turn a five point deficit into a 10 point lead and control of the game. Rocky (10-16, 5-6) never got closer than seven the rest of the way as Westminster claimed a sixth straight victory.
The Griffins again called on their defense to get the job done. Westminster held Rocky to just 33.9% shooting and forced them into 19 turnovers. Westminster shot 47.8% themselves and totaled 26 points in the paint. They also took advantage of those forced turnovers by scoring 17 points off turnovers.
Ben Walker led the Griffins attack with 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Walker also collected seven rebounds and made all five of his free throw attempts.
Blair Prowse added 13 points and made three from beyond the arc.
Jeramie Hopson finished with nine points and five assists.

Tanner Gregory went for eight points apiece off the bench with Gregory grabbing a team-best eight rebounds.
Westminster will look to clinch the regular season championship on Saturday, February 20 at Carroll College. Tipoff from Helena, Montana is slated for 8 p.m.
