Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's basketball team defeated Montana Tech 66-59 in Frontier Conference action in the Behnken Field House on Saturday night. No. 14 Westminster improves to 21-5 on the season and 10-1 in Frontier Conference action with the ninth straight home win.
The Griffins overcame a poor shooting performance by holding the visitors to an even worse 29.7% from the floor. Westminster connected on just 36.5% of their 57 shots and went 5-of-20 from beyond the arc. They also took advantage of 12 Tech turnovers by turning them into 18 points.
McKenzie Jessop led Westminster with 14 points and nine rebounds. She added three assists and three stelas two nights after setting a school record with 10 steals.
Dani Evans added 12 points and six rebounds while
Allie Eastman contributed 10. Olivia Pierce-Eisielein scored 11 points off the Griffin bench.
Taesha Higbee led Montana Tech (15-8, 5-6) with a game-high 21 points and 10 rebounds. Danii Devanny added 12 points off the bench while Brooke Porkorny had 10 points.
Westminster returns to action on Thursday, February 18 when they visit Billings, Montana to face Rocky Mountain College.
