This Week
The Westminster men's soccer team travels to Fresno, California for two games at the Sunbird Tournament hosted by Fresno Pacific University. The Griffins open with a game against Fresno Pacific on Friday, September 18. The tournament concludes with a game against No. 22 The Master's College on Saturday, September 19. Both games will be played at Ramirez Field on the campus of Fresno Pacific University.
Westminster will head for Fresno with a 3-4-1 overall record. They went 1-1-1 during three matches at home last weekend. The Griffins picked up a win over Adams State and a tie against Embry-Riddle (Ariz.). The loss of the weekend was against No. 23 Bellevue on Sunday afternoon.
Spencer Luczak and
Isaac Green are tied for the team lead with six points apiece. Luczak is the team leader with three goals. Green and
Jeff Gardner are tied for second with two goals each. Eight different players have scored a goal for the Griffins this season.
Val Campbell has a 2.02 goals against average while playing all 757 minutes between the pipes for the Griffins this season. He has recorded 50 saves and a .746 save percentage. Campbell ranks 28th nationally in saves with an average of 6.25 per game.
