Box Score LEWISTON, Idaho – The Westminster women's basketball team put four players in double figures and completed a 14-0 Frontier Conference schedule with an 81-66 win over No. 23 Lewis-Clark State College on Saturday night. No. 16 Westminster held L-C State to just 36.8% shooting and won in Lewiston for the second consecutive year following eight straight losses prior to that. Westminster (24-5), which had already clinched the regular season championship, become the first team to go undefeated in conference since L-C State in 2006-07.
Elisa Leader led the way with 18 points, doing most of her damage from the foul line with eight free throws. She also grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists.
Shannon Evans was solid again for Westminster as she scored 12 points with eight rebounds and five assists. The Griffins shot 42.9% from the floor and connected on 10-of-24 from beyond the arc.
Jasmine Stohr led L-C State (20-7, 10-4 Frontier) with 15 points and teammate Kenna Reiter had 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Warriors forced 16 Westminster turnovers, resulting in 14 points.
Westminster will open the 2009 Frontier Conference Playoffs on Wednesday, March 4 when they host Great Falls at 7:00 p.m. The Griffins will play at home as long as they are playing in the playoffs with future games set for March 6 and 9.
