Shannon Evans scored 19 points to lead the Westminster women's basketball team to a 76-63 win over Montana Tech on Saturday night. No. 17 Westminster shot 53.3% in the second half as they turned a five point halftime cushion into the 13 point win. The win brings Westminster's (21-5, 11-0 Frontier) magic number to clinching the regular season championship to one.
Elisa Leader finished with 16 points, shooting 6-of-9 from the field in 29 minutes.
Keshia Catten made four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points. Westminster forced 17 turnovers and turned them into 19 points while holding a 23-12 advantage in bench points, anchored by 11 from
Suzanne Young.
Jessie DePell led Montana Tech (6-15, 3-8) with 17 points and Jenessa Todd had 16. Dani Peterson grabbed a team-best eight boards to help her team to a 37-30 rebounding advatbage.
