Box Score BUTTE, Mont. – One night after dropping just their third game of the season, the Westminster men's basketball team bounced back with a 76-59 win over Montana Tech. The third-ranked Griffins shot 52.9% from the field and used a 36-25 rebounding advantage to help them to the win. Westminster (23-3, 9-2 Frontier) used 60.0% shooting in the second half to keep the game out of reach.
Geoff Payne scored a team-high 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Jordan Jacobs had 14 points while Jeramine Hopson scored 13 points in the return to Montana Tech, the school he played with last season. Westminster held a 30-22 advantage in the paint and turned 14 Tech turnovers into 16 points.
Josh Monagle led Montana Tech (8-17, 1-10) with 14 points and James York scored 12. The Orediggers collected 12 offensive rebounds and forced Westminster into 17 turnovers.
Westminster will return home for a game on Thursday, February 19 against Rocky Mountain College. That game will begin at 7:30 p.m. from the Behnken Field House.
