SALT LAKE CITY – The Westminster women's volleyball team dropped a tough 3-1 decision against Rocky Mountain College on Saturday afternoon. Westminster struggled offensively in the 14-25, 17-25, 25-23, 19-25 loss, managing just 45 kills in the four sets. The loss drops the Griffins to 9-19 overall and 6-8 in the Frontier Conference.
Westminster celebrated the careers of seniors
Talita Kresser,
Whitney Roseborough, and
Kelsey Schaufler prior to the match. The three were playing in their final home game as Griffins.
Ericka Evans led the Griffins with 14 kills and hit .180 in the contest. Evans also had 16 digs. Kresser had nine kills and two blocks in the match.
Becky Burke, Stephanie Jones, and
Katy Waldie all had six kills while
Tahnie Blymiller posted 21 digs.
Westminster will head to Lewiston, Idaho for the Frontier Conference Tournament on November 13 and 14. The Griffins will be either the fifth or sixth seed, depending on what Montana Tech does in tonight's action.
