Box Score HAVRE, Mont. – One night after their bus was involved in an accident, the Westminster women's volleyball team played through the emotion of the situation with a five-set win over Montana State-Northern on Friday night. Westminster rallied to take the final two sets after finding themselves trailing 2-1 through the first three sets. The win is the third straight for the Griffins and improves them to 9-15 on the season and 6-4 in the Frontier Conference.
Westminster took the match by scores of 27-29, 25-18, 20-25, 25-20, 15-6.
Four players reached double figures in kills for the Griffins to help the team to a 57-55 advantage in total kills. Westminster hit .186 in the match and racked up 88 digs. The Griffins hit above .200 in all three sets they won.
Talita Kresser was excellent all night for the Griffins. She finished the match with 20 kills, 16 digs, four service aces, and three blocks. The 20 kills is a new career high for Kresser and her 10th double-figure kill match of the season.
Ericka Evans finished with 12 kills and 17 digs while
Whitney Roseborough added 10 kills.
Katy Waldie set a new career high for the third consecutive match with her 11 kills.
Tahnie Blymiller compiled 27 digs to lead all players.
Westminster continues this final road trip of the regular season with a 2:00 p.m. on Saturday against Great Falls.
