Westminster Shoots Past Rocky

Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. – The Westminster women's basketball team used 51.7 percent shooting in the second half to turn a five point halftime lead into a 74-57 victory over Rocky Mountain College on Saturday night. No. 21 Westminster (16-5, 6-0 Frontier) had three players score in double figures and had a 29-8 advantage in bench points in the win. With the victory, Westminster opens up a one-and-a-half game lead in the Frontier Conference standings.

Elisa Leader and Alexis Tucker each scored 16 points and Tucker connected on four attempts from beyond the arc. Mara Hoskins scored 13 points off the bench. The Griffins shot 13-of-34 from 3-point territory and six different players made at least one.

Janie Rayback led Rocky (9-11, 3-2) with 22 points and Liz Lewis scored 10 points with six assists. Rocky finished with 46 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end.

Westminster now returns home for a Saturday, January 31 game against No. 17 Lewis-Clark State College in the Behnken Field House. The game is part of the Pink in the Paint for breast cancer awareness night and tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
