Box Score HELENA, Mont. – The Westminster women's basketball team forced 26 Carroll turnovers and came away with an 83-59 win on Thursday night. No. 21 Westminster (15-5) shot 51.9 percent for the game and made five 3-pointers to improve to 5-0 in the Frontier Conference. Westminster controlled much of the first half and took a 40-26 lead into the intermission.
Shannon Evans led the Griffins with 22 points and five assists. Evans was 7-of-16 shooting and recorded four steals, her sixth straight game with multiple steals.
Elisa Leader chipped on 19 points, shooting 6-of-7 and was perfect on her two attempts from beyond the arc.
Keshia Catten added 16 for Westminster.
Carroll (12-8, 1-3 Frontier) got 13 points from Elly Bruursema and another 12 from Nicole Leibach. They did outrebound Westminster 25-24 but couldn't overcome 26 turnovers even with them shooting 48.8 percent.
Westminster next faces Rocky Mountain College on Saturday, January 24. That afternoon game will tipoff at 2:00 p.m. from Billings, Montana.
