Box Score SALT LAKE CITY – Megann Alberts scored 29 points and led Biola to a 77-73 win over Westminster in the Behnken Field House on Friday night. The 16th-ranked Griffins lose for the first time this season, snapping an eight-game winning streak to begin the year. The game featured 12 ties and nine lead changes and with the win Biola improves to 3-0 on the season.
Neither team could pull away all night as the largest lead for either team was a seven point cushion early in the opening half for the Griffins. The four point margin for Biola was their largest of the game with it happening on three different occasions.
Keshia Catten tied the game at 71 with 59.7 seconds remaining for Westminster, but Biola got a three from Emily Drews with 45 seconds left to put the Eagles on top for good.
Catten led Westminster with 20 points, making six from beyond the arc.

Elisa Leader to just 12 points, eight off her season average. Westminster forced Biola into 16 turnovers and turned them into 14 points.
Alberts went 13-of-19 from the field to help her lead everyone with 29 points. Biola had a 46-26 advantage in the paint and were 12-6 in second chance points. Charrise Reece had 16 points and seven assists and used her speed to get the Eagles good looks all night.
Westminster now gets ready to face Weber State in an exhibition game. That will be on Tuesday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the Dee Events Center in Ogden, Utah.
