Westminster Wins Fifth Straight

Box Score SALT LAKE CITY - It was a special afternoon in the Benhken Field House, as the Westminster Griffins claimed a 3-0 sweep of MSU-Northern. Westminster teamed up with the Swing for Life Foundation to raise money for breast cancer awareness. The Griffins took the court in special pink jerseys and then took care of MSU-Northern. The win is the fifth straight for the Griffins, a season high, and improves them to 8-14 overall and 7-4 in the Frontier Conference.

Westminster won by scores of 25-19, 25-16, 25-18.

Ali Culp put together another solid performance with 17 kills and 10 digs, her third consecutive double-double. She also just missed the school record in hitting efficiency with her .600 this afternoon. Brittani Barton celebrated her final home match with seven kills and two blocks. Ericka Evans had 10 kills and Leigha Dangerfield dished out 36 assists.

Next for the Griffins is a Halloween night match against 11th-ranked Lewis-Clark State College. The match in Lewiston, Idaho will begin at 8:00 p.m. on October 31.
