Box Score ESPANOLA, N.M. - The Westminster Griffins opened the 2008-09 season with an 81-51 win over Northern New Mexico on Friday night. Westminster never trailed in the contest and wins the season opener for the second consecutive year, and only the third time in school history. This was the first game ever for Northern New Mexico.

Westminster will face this same Northern New Mexico team on Saturday, October 25 to conclude the season opening road trip.
