Laura Iverson Bastiani serves as Assistant Athletics Director for Student Support & Success at Westminster University, a role she has held since July 2025. In this capacity, she provides leadership for academics, student-athlete support services, welfare, diversity, gender equity and inclusion, while also coordinating NCAA awards, grants, and scholarship opportunities.
Iverson Bastiani has been a fixture at Westminster since 2008, first serving as Fitness Coordinator from November 2008 to May 2009, managing the Group Exercise and Personal Training programs. She then served as Assistant Director of Fitness, Wellness & Recreation for over 16 years beginning in May 2009, overseeing daily operations and strategic planning for Group Exercise, Intramural Sports, Personal Training, and campus-wide wellness initiatives. She also served on the steering committee to help design the L.S. Skaggs Integrated Wellness Center. Concurrently, she has served as Adjunct Faculty at Westminster since 2009, teaching for-credit courses including Food as Medicine, Wellness for Life, Nutrition for Wellness, and Group Fitness Instructor, among others.
Prior to Westminster, Iverson Bastiani served as Assistant Director of Campus Recreation at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles from 2002 to 2005, where she increased Group Exercise class attendance by 25% and grew the Personal Training program by 300% over three years.
She holds both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Sport Science from the University of Idaho and carries numerous certifications including ACE Certified Medical Exercise Specialist, ACE Certified Sports Nutrition Specialist, Yoga Alliance 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and Certified Mind-Body Nutrition Coach through the Institute for the Psychology of Eating.
