Megan Vera

Megan Vera joined the Westminster University women’s basketball coaching staff in 2025, bringing with her over 15 years of coaching experience and a strong reputation for developing high-level athletes and winning team cultures. Prior to Westminster, Vera served as the head girls’ basketball coach at Grantsville High School from 2013 to 2025, where she led a remarkable program turnaround. Under her leadership, the Cowboys captured seven region championships and made eight state semifinal appearances in nine seasons, with Vera earning Region Coach of the Year honors seven times and compiling over 200 career wins. 

In addition to her high school coaching success, Vera has been coaching club basketball for 8 years.  Her work at the club level has helped guide more than 30 athletes to collegiate basketball scholarships.

Vera earned her bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion and Education The University of Utah. Her coaching philosophy centers around building confident, resilient players in a positive and demanding environment. She emphasizes defensive intensity, mental toughness, and team chemistry, while fostering a culture where athletes are encouraged to grow on and off the court.
