Elyah Ocampo is from Salt Lake City, Utah, and attended Democracy Prep at Agassi Campus, where she was a Nevada 5A State Runner-Up, helped her team rank in the Top 25 nationally in-season and finish the season ranked in the Top 100 nationally, was the team's leading scorer as a senior (and at Judge Memorial Catholic High School as a sophomore), earned Judge Memorial's Most Outstanding Women's Basketball Player Award as a sophomore and Most Inspirational Women's Basketball Player Award as a junior, was named 3A Region 14 MVP, and earned 3A All-State Second Team honors — all while overcoming a torn ACL suffered before playoffs.
She is majoring in Business. Ocampo chose Westminster for its tight-knit and competitive atmosphere, rigorous academic curriculum, and proximity to home, and looks forward to building something great with her coaches and teammates.
Her goal is to take basketball as far as she can — professionally, overseas, or eventually working to impact youth in the game — while also becoming an entrepreneur who builds lasting businesses.
