- Appeared in all seven of the Griffins' contests in an abbreviated season that was played in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Made one start on his condensed freshman campaign.

Before Westminster
- A native of West Jordan, Utah, he committed to Westminster in 2020 after graduating from Taylorsville High School where he was a four-year varsity letterwinner in soccer.
- Played for the Blue Knights Soccer Club under coach Martin Villegas.  Also played club soccer for AFC Apex under coach Bewar Yousif

- Son of Fernando and Karla Hernandez
- Luis has three younger brothers: Fernando, Carlos and Emilio Hernandez.
- His favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo and his favorite team is Manchester United
- Luis has specialized in soccer but enjoyed playing sports like basketball and football for fun growing up.
- Briefly considered playing professional soccer in Mexico during the COVID-19 pandemic, but instead decided to continue pursuing his college degree and continue playing for the Griffins.
- Luis has an uncle that spent time playing professionally for the legendary Mexican soccer club, Tigres UANL
