Troost enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Griffins' Men's Soccer program in 2022 after a two-year stint playing center back as a student at Westminster through 2016. In addition to his coaching duties, Ian also works on campus with the college in the Student Affairs Department.
Following his playing career at Westminster, Ian transferred to the University of Pittsburgh where walked onto the Panthers' football team as a placekicker. He would go on to join the Pitt Women's Soccer staff as a team manager where he developed an interest in continuing his soccer career as a coach. He returned to his hometown of Portsmouth, N.H., where he spent two years as a JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant Coach at Portsmouth High School.
Troost, who is currently a Coordinator of Student Engagement & Orientation, spent time as the Westminster "Griff" mascot and was recruited to be "Roc the Panther" at the University of Pitt.
