Rick Hackford was appointed as Westminster's Head Athletic Trainer in 2004. Under his leadership and the collective efforts of his team, significant advancements have been made in the Sports Medicine services offered by Westminster Athletics.
Hackford's responsibilities encompass the development and supervision of all aspects of the athletic training program, with a primary focus on ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of student-athletes. This includes overseeing medical and insurance records, managing inventory and procurement of supplies, as well as providing coverage for home games and practices while supervising student workers. Additionally, Rick serves as an Adjunct Faculty member, teaching Health and Performance Wellness Courses.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions, Hackford was honored as the 2021-22 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wayne Barger Athletic Trainer of the Year.
Before joining Westminster, Hackford served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Utah State University during the 2003-04 season. Prior to that, he held the same position at Southern Utah University from 2000-2003, where he graduated with a degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training.
