Joshua Juarez, MBA, LAT, ATC, GTS has served as an Athletic Trainer at Westminster University since 2018. With more than a decade of experience in collegiate athletics, secondary schools, and orthopedic sports medicine, he is committed to delivering evidence-based care that helps student-athletes return to competition safely while promoting their long-term health and performance.
At Westminster, Juarez provides comprehensive medical care for the university’s student-athletes, including injury prevention, emergency care, clinical evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play planning. Throughout his tenure, he has worked extensively with the Griffins’ men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer, skiing, and track & field programs. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he has played an active role in departmental initiatives focused on enhancing clinical operations, refining policies and procedures, and advancing the overall quality of the Sports Medicine Department.
Before joining Westminster, Juarez worked in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy at Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, where he treated orthopedic patients while providing athletic training services to local high school athletes through an outreach program. He also served as the athletic trainer at Taylorsville High School, overseeing medical coverage for all athletic programs, managing the athletic training clinic, and developing emergency action plans for the school’s athletic venues.
Juarez earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Utah before completing his Master of Business Administration at Westminster University. He is licensed as an Athletic Trainer in the State of Utah, certified by the Board of Certification (BOC), Graston Technique® certified, and maintains active membership in the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers’ Association.
Professionally, Juarez is passionate about sports medicine innovation, rehabilitation program development, and expanding access to evidence-based injury education through technology and digital resources. His goal is to continually elevate the quality of care provided to Westminster’s student-athletes while advancing the role of sports medicine within collegiate athletics.
