Bruce Jr. Won over 25 junior and high school tournaments before playing collegiate golf for the University of Utah from 1998-2002.  He has also won over 10 professional events and got his start in professional instruction at Kokopelli Golf Club in Washington, Utah, a course designed by his father, three-time PGA Champions Tour winner, Bruce Summerhays Sr.

The Summerhays family has produced generations of decorated golfers and instructors as Bruce's sister, Carrie Roberts, is currently the Head Women's Golf Coach at BYU and a former LPGA Tour professional.  Bruce's two cousins, Daniel and Boyd, have also each spent time playing professionally.  Daniel has reached as high as No. 53 in the world while Boyd is currently the coach for PGA Tour's Tony Finau.  Their grandfather, Pres Summerhays, was also a longtime head coach for the University of Utah's men's golf program.
