Norm Parrish

Norm Parrish enters his tenth season as Head Coach of the Westminster Men’s Basketball team in 2024-25, continuing to build on a legacy of success. Since taking over in August 2015, Parrish has guided the program through its transition to NCAA Division II, securing multiple all-conference and academic all-conference honors while leading the team to three Brechler Awards for the highest GPA in the RMAC.

Under Parrish’s leadership, Westminster has achieved consistent success, including a standout 2017-18 season in which the Griffins finished second in the RMAC, earning him RMAC Coach of the Year honors. His tenure has seen multiple winning seasons, with the program’s first 20-win season coming in 2017-18 (21-5, 17-5 RMAC). Despite challenges, including the pandemic-altered 2020-21 season, he has maintained Westminster’s competitiveness in the RMAC.

Before Westminster, Parrish spent four years as an assistant coach at the University of Utah, helping the Utes return to national prominence with an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance in 2015. Before that, he built a powerhouse at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), leading the Bruins to an NJCAA National Championship in 2009 and earning five Region 18 Coach of the Year honors. Over 20 seasons at SLCC, he compiled an impressive 453-198 (.693) record, developing 20 NJCAA All-Americans and numerous NCAA and professional players.

A former collegiate player at Ricks College and Northwest Nazarene, Parrish earned All-Region honors at both schools. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Science Education from Northwest Nazarene and a master’s in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Utah State. Parrish and his wife, Kaye, have three sons: Travis, Matt, and Collin.

As he enters his tenth season, Parrish remains dedicated to elevating Westminster’s program both on and off the court, shaping student-athletes for success beyond basketball.
