Jimmy Henry-Dempster enters his third season as an assistant coach for Westminster University. Before his time at Westminster. Jimmy was an assistant coach for Snow College. While at Snow, Jimmy helped lead the team to a 26-win season in 2021-22 that included the school’s first NJCAA national tournament appearance in 50 years and reaching the Sweet 16. Â
Jimmy has also served as a video coordinator at Utah Valley University from 2015 – 2020. During his time at UVU, the Wolverines reached new heights, making a CBI Final Four run in 2017 and the first 25-win season in program history in 2018-19.Â
Before UVU he was an assistant coach at Highland, Taylorsville, Timpanogos, and Tustin (California) high schools from 2008-2015.Â
Before coaching high school basketball, he was a student manager for the BYU men’s basketball program from 2001-02 and 2004-2008. He helped the Cougars win back-to-back Mountain West Conference championships, two NCAA tournament appearances, and 2 NIT appearances..Â
Jimmy earned a bachelor’s degree in Spanish with a minor in Coaching from BYU in 2008. He went on to earn his master’s degree in Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine in 2012.Â
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ribeirao Preto, Brazil from 2002-2004.Â
The Houston, Texas native is married to his wife Alicia, and they have three children; Dru, Andie, and Evie.Â
