Elaine Turner was named Westminster Head Cheer Team Coach in August 2022. She brings more than 30 years to the position as an educator, choreographer, and performer. Her experience ranges from a background in ballet and studios, to consulting with high school and college dance and spirit squads, to performances at Utah Jazz games.
Turner has served as a choreographer and clinician for the University of Utah Crimson Line, University of Tennessee Dance Team, Utah Jazz Dancers, Utah State University Aggiettes, Nightline Dance Company, as Utah State Cheer Safety Clinic Director and numerous high school dance, drill and cheer squads in Utah, Idaho, California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, and Tennessee.
She is a certified Utah State cheer and drill judge, and currently serves as an Adjudicator and Judge at the local and national levels for cheer, dance and drill competitions in Utah, California, Idaho, and Oregon.
She’s performed at many notable events such as the 2002 Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony, Olympic City Celebration, Suzuka Circuit, Indy 500 Festival, NBA All-Star Athlete Events, NBA Finals Halftime and numerous concert and corporate events.
From 1991-99, Turner served as the Advisor for the Cyprus High School Spinnakers and prior to that Advised the Bonneville High School Lakettes, Go For it Spirt Camps and United Spirit Association. A graduate of Utah State University, Turner holds a master’s degree in English and bachelor’s degrees in both Elementary Education and English.
