Race Breakdown
The Griffins hosted the teams from Utah, Colorado, and Idaho for a set of 5K races at Sugarhouse park on Thursday, and performed well against good competition and warm and hilly course conditions. 

Men's 5K
Joaquin Stultz led the Griffins, finishing 6th overall in 16:03.18. Coen Whitney followed in 12th (16:14.86), with Elliot Vargas (19th, 16:59.84) and LJ Johnson (20th, 17:06.97) close behind. Jacob Fornander (24th, 17:37.49) and Diego Escalante (25th, 17:41.73) ran nearly in tandem, while James Stock (30th, 18:13.00) and Mason Wulff (33rd, 18:53.99) rounded out the scoring group.

Women's 5K
Eileen O'Connor paced the Griffin women, placing 12th overall in 19:39.42. Sonya Brunner was next in 14th (20:02.22), followed by Kaja Wilcox in 17th (20:19.37). Angela Martin Rubin (21st, 20:42.74) and Haven Finley (22nd, 20:57.20) completed Westminster's scoring lineup.

"We have a very talented group of underclassmen and under the leadership of our juniors and seniors they are gaining confidence in their racing ability," said head coach Janelle Branch. "Still some fitness to be built across the board over the next few weeks, but I'm looking forward to what the rest of the season has in store!"
