Westminster dropped its first game of the 2026 season on Sunday, March 1, falling to No. 18 Rollins 20-8 in Winter Park, Florida. The Griffins fell to 1-1 on the year while Rollins improved to 5-1.
Game Breakdown
First Quarter
Westminster struck first when Madi Rogers found the back of the net just 15 seconds into the game, assisted by Ava Deakins, to give the Griffins an early 1-0 lead. Rollins responded with six unanswered goals — including a pair of free-position strikes and three from Kali Gagnon — to close the quarter leading 6-2. Olivia Petrosky scored a man-up goal assisted by Jadyn Kohan to account for Westminster's second tally of the period. Rollins outshot Westminster 9-5 in the first quarter.
Second Quarter
Rollins extended its lead to 8-2 before Westminster mounted a spirited rally. Grace Szwedko, Holly Shoughro, and Shaina Shoughro scored in quick succession to cut the deficit to 10-5 and show the Griffins weren't going quietly. Rollins answered with two late goals from Katie Bell to head into halftime leading 12-5. Kaitlyn Parish made 5 saves in the period as Westminster put 6 shots on goal in the second quarter.
Third Quarter
Westminster continued to fight, getting goals from Olivia Petrosky (assisted by Holly Shoughro) and Adison Bendorf (assisted by Lilliana Montano) to keep the Griffins on the board. However, Rollins countered with five goals of its own — including three from Delaney Hudson — to push the lead to 17-7 heading into the fourth. Westminster put 3 shots on goal in the third.
Fourth Quarter
Rollins added three more goals to stretch the final margin to 20-8. Westminster's lone score came from Olivia Petrosky, who finished with a man-down goal at 1:52 to cap her three-goal performance. Kaitlyn Parish went the full 60 minutes in goal, finishing with 11 saves.
Griffin Performances
Olivia Petrosky led Westminster with 3 goals on 5 shots, including a man-up and a man-down goal, showing her ability to produce in any situation. Holly Shoughro added 1 goal and 1 assist on 4 shots. Grace Szwedko and Shaina Shoughro each scored 1 goal, while Madi Rogers and Adison Bendorf also found the back of the net. Ava Deakins, Jadyn Kohan, and Lilliana Montano each contributed 1 assist. Defensively, Marianna Dick posted 3 ground balls and 4 caused turnovers. Rollins won the draw control battle 16-13, while Westminster collected 19 ground balls on the day.
