Griffins Dominate Adams State on Senior Day

Game Breakdown

The Westminster Griffins celebrated Senior Day in emphatic fashion on Saturday afternoon, routing Adams State 106-87 at Behnken Field House. The victory improved Westminster's record to 11-14 overall and 6-11 in RMAC play, while the Grizzlies dropped to 16-8 and 10-6 in conference.

First Half

Westminster jumped out to an early 8-0 lead behind back-to-back dunks from Jonah El-Farra. The Griffins matched Adams State's 51.52% shooting from the field while connecting on 5-of-11 from three-point range. Cole Kadoguchi and Jake Nadauld led the early charge, with the Griffins building a 13-point advantage. Adams State fought back late, cutting the deficit to 43-41 at halftime.

Second Half

The Griffins turned on the afterburners in the second half, shooting an incredible 70.00% from the field and a blistering 92.86% from three-point range (13-of-14). Kadoguchi caught fire from deep, connecting on all six of his three-point attempts in the game. Westminster's bench provided a massive boost, and the Griffins built their lead to 20 points en route to the 106-87 victory.


Griffin Performances

Cole Kadoguchi and Colin Hayes each led the Griffins with 20 points. Kadoguchi was spectacular, going 6-of-8 from the field with a perfect 6-of-7 from three-point range in just 18 minutes. Hayes shot 8-of-12, including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc, with six assists in 30 minutes.

Jake Nadauld recorded 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting with five rebounds and a game-high eight assists. Boston Painter delivered a double-double off the bench with 15 points and 12 rebounds on perfect 4-of-4 shooting. Jonah El-Farra added 14 points and six rebounds, while Nick Holland contributed 11 points, going 3-of-5 from three-point range.

Westminster's bench outscored Adams State's reserves 49-15. The Griffins dominated the boards 43-22 and converted 24 fast break points.

For Adams State, Luke Williams and Jarmell Johnson each scored 17 points to lead the Grizzlies.
