Seattle, WA - Westminster men's soccer fell 1-0 on the road at Seattle Pacific Thursday night in a match defined by the Falcons' relentless pressure. After holding firm for much of the contest, the Griffins conceded in the 80th minute when Christopher Soto found the lower corner to give SPU the decisive goal. Westminster battled to create opportunities of its own but managed just one shot on target against a disciplined Falcon defense.
Goalkeeper Tommy Manwaring once again anchored the back line with several strong saves that kept Westminster in contention until the final whistle. His shot-stopping gave the Griffins a chance to take something from the match, but the offense could not find a breakthrough with only one shot of seven landing on target. Westminster now turns its attention to Saturday, Sept. 20, when the Griffins wrap up their six-game road stand in Bellingham, Washington, against Western Washington.
