Grand Junction, Colo. – The Westminster Women's Lacrosse team closed out its postseason run on Thursday with a 17-7 loss to top-seeded Colorado Mesa in the RMAC Tournament Semifinals.
Colorado Mesa jumped out to an early lead, scoring the first eight goals of the game before Jordan Williamson put Westminster on the board late in the second quarter. The Griffins gained some momentum heading into halftime with a flurry of goals, including tallies from Williamson, Olivia Petrosky, and Grace Szwedko, trimming the deficit to 9-3 at the break.
In the second half, Williamson continued to shine, finishing the game with five goals—including three unassisted scores. Despite her standout performance, the Mavericks' high-powered offense proved too much, as they pulled away with eight more goals across the third and fourth quarters.
Goalkeeper Gabriella Cheminant recorded 11 saves in the effort for the Griffins.
